Gythio may be a small town, but it still has a good number of shops where you will find local products such as olive oil, herbs, honey and sweets.

At Pasteli Manolakos they have been making pasteli, the sweet delicacy that combines honey and sesame seeds, for four generations now, following the family recipe step by step on the marble counter that dates from 1902! 

The fresh produce street market takes place every Friday morning, from 8 till midday and is the ideal place to shop farm-to-table fruit and vegetables as well as products such as olives and honey. 

Very close to Gythio, at Passavas, you can visit the Karababas Organic Farm for a tour and sampling of their products. In the Farm’s shop you will find all their products from olives and olive oil to capers, herbs and jams, as well as organic soap and cosmetics. The Farm is open every afternoon from 4pm to 8pm, except on Sundays.
